Yes, you read that right. According to research from John’s Hopkins doctor error directly causes at least 250,000 deaths a year, making it the 3rd leading cause of death in the USA; and yet, no one ever talks about this. We lose 40,000 people a year to suicide and it’s all over the news. We lose 50,000 people a year to the opioid crisis (helped in part by our lovely doctor friends) and this is now considered a national emergency. Back in the 1980’s we were losing 50,000 people a year to drunk driving accidents and this caused the whole MADD and SADD revolutions and we changed laws and tried to deal with an “epidemic.” During the Vietnam War we lost 50,000 troops over the 10 year period and this forever changed the face of this nation.
Year after year doctors are killing a minimum of 250,000 people and no one talks about it. Why is this NOT an epidemic? Why is this NOT a public health crisis? How is this NOT a national emergency? NO… the answer to all societal ills is a constant two prong approach… more government and more access to medical care (i.e. making more money for the medical class and pharmaceutical companies).
People we are sick, but not in the ways government or doctors will tell you. Government and doctors are the problem, not the answer!
